Bay Area Back on Top: Oracle Park Lands the 2028 All-Star Game

San Francisco, get your orange and black ready — the Midsummer Classic is headed back to the bay. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred dropped the news Friday: Oracle Park will host the 2028 All-Star Game.

"With its passionate fanbase, world-class ballpark, and rich baseball history, San Francisco will be an outstanding host for All-Star Week," Manfred said. And honestly, he's not wrong.

This is a homecoming with history. The Giants' waterfront ballpark also hosted the game in 2007, when Ichiro Suzuki turned an inside-the-park home run into pure All-Star magic, using that tricky right-center wall like it owed him money.

The Bay Area is on an absolute heater right now. The Super Bowl and World Cup already land this year, the NBA All-Star Game was in the Bay in February 2025, and now the MLB's brightest stars get their turn. It's the fourth time the Giants have hosted — Candlestick Park did the honors back in 1961 and 1984.

Oracle Park will become the eighth active ballpark to host the All-Star Game multiple times, joining legendary venues like Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, Dodger Stadium and Coors Field. Wrigley gets the nod in 2027, then it's San Francisco's time to shine in 2028.

Giants president and CEO Larry Baer was clearly fired up. "Incredibly honored" was the phrase, and he also hyped the chance to "showcase our organization, our city, and the incredible passion of our fans on baseball's biggest summer stage." Translation: get ready for a week-long party that'll make the rest of the league jealous.

Mark your calendars for the summer of 2028. The stars are coming to Oracle Park — and it's going to be absolutely unforgettable.
