Misiorowski's 102-MPH Heat Melts Dodgers as Brewers Steal Show in LA

LOS ANGELES — Jacob Misiorowski didn't just pitch. He made a statement.

The Brewers' flame-throwing right-hander dialed up 102 mph on his first six pitches to Shohei Ohtani, got the two-way superstar to pop out, then slammed the door on a bases-loaded jam in the fifth by striking out both Ohtani and Freddie Freeman. Final line: five hits, one run, five K's, six innings. That's how you beat the Dodgers on their own turf.

Bats Bring the Boom

Joey Ortiz put Milwaukee on top in the second with a 373-foot homer to left, capitalizing after William Contreras kept the inning alive with a two-out single. Ortiz is now 5-for-13 with a four-game hitting streak, and he's driven in a run in three straight.

Ohtani answered with a two-out triple into the right-field corner in the third, scoring Alex Call. But that was all the damage LA could muster.

Contreras made sure the lead felt safe in the fourth, jumping on a cutter for his 12th homer of the year and making it 4-1. Not bad for a guy who came into the night hitless in his first 15 at-bats on this California road trip.

Bullpen Holds the Line

Aaron Ashby locked up his first save of the season, striking out Call after putting two runners on. Gary Sánchez was lifted for a pinch runner after getting hit by a pitch in the sixth, something to monitor.
