Say this for the Rockies: they don't do boring. In a game that had more swings than a playground, Colorado outlasted the Giants 13-7 on Sunday, fueled by a pair of no-doubt three-run homers from Adael Amador and Brett Sullivan.

Amador turned on a first-pitch fastball and sent it straight into McCovey Cove in the second inning, announcing himself with his first home run of the season and staking the Rockies to an early 4-1 lead. The 23-year-old's splashdown set the tone for an absolute slugfest in San Francisco.

The Giants answered with Rafael Devers' 25th bomb of the season — a three-run rocket in the second — but Colorado wasn't done stacking runs.

The Sixth-Inning Breakthrough

Tied at 7-7 in the sixth, the Rockies flipped a switch. After Zac Veen scored on a wild pitch, the bases loaded and Cole Carrigg got plunked to force in the go-ahead run. Then Mickey Moniak laced a two-run single to stretch the lead to 10-7. It was a rally built on grit, walks and one very timely hit-by-pitch — pure chaos ball.

Sullivan put the exclamation point on things in the seventh with a three-run shot down the right field line, slamming the door on any Giants comeback hopes.

Pitching Lines? Let's Keep It Brief

Rockies starter Gabriel Hughes grinded through four innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs. It wasn't pretty, but the bullpen and bats had his back. Giants reliever Sam Hentges took the loss (1-5), allowing two runs in 1 1/3 innings. And San Francisco starter Blade Tidwell walked five and allowed six runs in 4 1/3 — a wild ride from start to finish.

Also worth a shout: Giants rookie Turner Hill picked up his first MLB hit in the third inning, knocking in a run and proving the future's got some pop too.

What's Next

Colorado heads home to face the Dodgers on Monday with Tomoyuki Sugano (12-5, 4.43 ERA) taking the mound against Blake Snell (0-1, 5.00). Meanwhile, the Giants ship up to Cleveland, with lefty Carson Whisenhunt (3-3, 6.11) opening a series against Guardians' Foster Griffin (13-4, 3.25).
