All-Star Goes AWOL: Diamondbacks Hit Panic Button, Place Ketel Marte on Restricted List

The Arizona Diamondbacks just pulled a move straight out of left field — or maybe out of the clubhouse. All-Star infielder Ketel Marte has been placed on the restricted list after pulling a no-show for Monday night's game against the Red Sox.

Marte's 2026 season has been solid, if not spectacular: .249 average, 21 homers, and 67 RBIs across 118 games. He left Friday's win over Atlanta in the first inning with left knee soreness, only to return Sunday in a 5-3 loss. Now this.

History Repeats?

It's not the first time Marte has found himself on the restricted list. Last year, he missed three games after his home was broken into during the All-Star break, flying back to the Dominican Republic and later apologizing.
