On Oct. 20, the New York Knicks will finally hoist that championship banner to the rafters, and who better to share the moment with than LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers? The NBA announced the marquee matchup Tuesday as part of a stacked night of hoops.

Opening Night Tripleheader Bangers

The party starts early with the Boston Celtics rolling into Detroit to take on the Pistons in an afternoon showdown on NBC. Then the defending champion Knicks take center stage against a Sixers squad looking to spoil the celebration. And for the nightcap? A Western Conference Finals rematch as the Oklahoma City Thunder square off with the San Antonio Spurs.

Three games. Zero chill. That's how you tip off a season.

Christmas Day Is Stacked

If you thought Opening Night was loaded, just wait. The league also dropped the Christmas Day slate, and it's absolutely loaded with five games across ABC and ESPN.

The headliner? LeBron James reunites with his former team, the Los Angeles Lakers, in a matchup that will have the basketball world buzzing. But that's not all — the Spurs meet the Knicks, the Heat battle the Celtics, the Thunder take on the Timberwolves, and the Nuggets collide with the Warriors.

The fireworks don't stop after Opening Night. ESPN is serving up back-to-back doubleheaders to kick off the week. On Oct. 21, the Timberwolves head to Miami to face the Heat, while the Warriors visit the Lakers. Then on Oct. 22, the Cavaliers are in Philly to battle the 76ers, and the Nuggets head to OKC to take on the Thunder.
