Betting Bombshell: Everton's Martin Sherif Hit With 61-Count FA Charge

Everton have a brewing headache on their hands. Under-21 striker Martin Sherif has been officially charged by the Football Association for breaching betting rules.

The 20-year-old — born in Liberia and capped by the Netherlands at U17 level — is accused of placing a staggering 61 bets on football matches between November 20, 2024, and February 12, 2026.

The FA didn't hold back in their statement:

“It’s alleged that the player breached FA Rule E1.2 in respect of 61 bets placed on football matches between 20 November, 2024 and 12 February, 2026. Martin Sherif has until Monday, August 17 to provide a response.”

Sherif, who joined the Toffees academy as a 13-year-old, spent last season on loan in League One with Rotherham and Port Vale. Now, instead of gearing up for a breakout campaign, he's facing the fallout of a serious FA charge.
