Vicario to Juve! Spurs' Dethroned Shot-Stopper Gets His Serie A Escape Route

Juventus have swooped for Tottenham's forgotten man Guglielmo Vicario, agreeing a season-long loan with an option to make the move permanent for £8.6 million ($12m), sources told ESPN.

The Italian goalkeeper is heading back to Serie A after being dethroned in north London. New Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi has made Antonín Kinsky his undisputed No. 1 for the 2026-27 season, with Martin Dúbravka arriving from Burnley as cover. Vicario, who joined from Empoli three years ago, leaves with 117 appearances for Tottenham under his belt.

Kinsky's Redemption

Vicario's fate was sealed when De Zerbi took charge last season. Kinsky may have shipped criticism after some high-profile howlers in the Champions League against Atlético Madrid under Igor Tudor, but he's bounced back to lock down the gloves full-time — pushing Vicario further down the pecking order.

Juve's Goalkeeper Hunt

Juve had been tracking Aston Villa's Emi Martínez, but the Villans are themselves chasing Parma's Zion Suzuki, so the pieces moved. Now Vicario gets the chance to revive his career in Turin.

Tottenham's Rebuild Rolls On

This isn't the only big call of a wild Spurs summer. Out have gone Cristian Romero (Atlético Madrid), Djed Spence (Inter Milan), Radu Dragusin (Fiorentina), Yves Bissouma (released), Luka Vuskovic (Brighton), Will Lankshear (Middlesbrough), and Manor Solomon (West Ham). In have come Sandro Tonali, Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul van Hecke, and Mateus Fernandes.

It's a full-blown reset aimed at dragging Tottenham out of consecutive 17th-place finishes and back up the Premier League table.
