Manchester City's €100m Bouaddi Bargain Is Basically Done

Manchester City are on the verge of landing one of the most exciting midfield talents on the planet — and sources say it could be wrapped up this week.

Ayyoub Bouaddi is the name on everyone's lips. The 18-year-old Lille and Morocco star has already agreed personal terms on a five-year deal, and City have accepted Lille's €100 million (£87.5m) valuation. Now it's all about bonuses and structure.

The Rodri Replacement Arrives

Rodri's departure to Barcelona for €76.5m left a hole in the Etihad midfield. Bouaddi is the answer. Considered the best talent at his position in a generation, he has been chased by Arsenal, PSG, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid — but City have sprinted to the front of the line.

Sporting director Hugo Viana has been in constant contact with Lille's president, Olivier Létang, and the pieces are finally falling into place.

A World Cup Breakout

Bouaddi was one of the revelations of the 2026 World Cup, playing a key role in Morocco's run to the quarterfinals. He became the youngest African teenager to make five appearances at a single World Cup — bold, fearless, box-office.

He committed his international future to Morocco in May, after previously representing France at youth level and even captaining Les Bleus U21s. In other words, he's not scared of big decisions.

His last goodbye might have already happened: Bouaddi featured for Lille in a friendly against Everton on August 15 — likely his swan song before the switch to Manchester.
