CINCINNATI — Most undrafted rookies fight tooth and nail just to survive preseason cutdown day. Ceyair Wright? He hit the eject button for a shot at Tinseltown.

The Bengals announced Saturday that Wright is leaving the team to reportedly further his acting career. Straight up: Two dreams collided, and the silver screen won.

“Two things he's really passionate about were colliding, and he decided to pursue this opportunity,” Bengals coach Zac Taylor said. “We wish him the best. He was fun to be around, he really competed hard for us. It was fun watching him play. I thought he was ascending as a player, but obviously he's chosen to go a different path.”

This isn't some random mid-life pivot

Wright has been living a double life for years. The former USC and Nebraska defensive back was a top-200 recruit out of high school and finished his collegiate career with 109 total tackles and three interceptions. But on the side? He has been stacking Hollywood credits since 2014.

Seven films and TV shows deep, and yes — sports fans know him from Space Jam: A New Legacy, where he played LeBron James' son.

What's next for Wright's acting career remains publicly unknown. But one thing's clear: He's far from the first NFL player to trade the locker room for a trailer. The path from football to film exists — and Wright's already got a head start.
