AR-11 Stops the Clock: Allen Robinson Retires on His 33rd Birthday

Allen Robinson is officially hanging up the cleats. The veteran wide receiver dropped the news on his 33rd birthday, serving up an emotional Instagram post that ended with a mic-drop level of gratitude.

"To every love story, there comes a final chapter," Robinson wrote. "Football gave me more than I ever could've imagined. It challenged me, shaped me, humbled me, and rewarded me in ways I'll carry for the rest of my life. I came, I saw, I conquered and I leave with nothing but gratitude."

That's how you close out a career with class.

From Jags breakout to Pro Bowl glory

Robinson entered the league as a second-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2014 — and he didn't waste any time making noise. In 2015, he exploded for career highs with 1,400 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns, earning a Pro Bowl nod and putting the league on notice.

That was part of three 1,000-yard seasons in his prime. Robinson did damage in Jacksonville and Chicago, then made stops with the Rams, Steelers and Lions. When it was all said and done, he finished with 565 receptions for 7,058 yards and 43 touchdowns.

More than the stat sheet

Before the NFL, Robinson was a star at Penn State, piling up 177 receptions for 2,479 yards and 17 touchdowns in three seasons in Happy Valley. But anyone who watched him knows his impact went far beyond the numbers.

Now at 33, Robinson gets to walk away on his own terms. Consider this his final victory lap — one last route, run with nothing but gratitude.
