According to sources who spoke to ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, former Lions first-round pick Terrion Arnold is planning to sign with the Seahawks. This isn't a quiet depth-piece add. This is a player facing four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery — charges that carry a potential life sentence.
A FALL FROM GRACE
Arnold was selected by Detroit in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft, but his tenure there imploded in late June when the Lions released him. That came less than a week after he was arrested in Tampa, Florida, on felony charges tied to an alleged robbery and kidnapping from early February.
Prosecutors say Arnold orchestrated the kidnapping and beating of three men he allegedly believed stole $100,000 in cash, along with luxury watches and bags. His reps have denied the allegations, and no trial date has been set — but the legal cloud is massive.
THE SEAHAWKS KNOW THE RISK
Seattle isn't blind here. Arnold met with the team earlier this week after also visiting the Texans, Saints and Giants. Head coach Mike Macdonald didn't hide the reality of the situation.
"It's a situation where there's other things that are surrounding it," Macdonald said. "We're aware of that. But we're working through the situation right now. But it was a great visit. I really enjoyed meeting him, and I think he enjoyed being here, so we'll see where it goes."
"Great visit, great tryout" — that's what Macdonald called it. Translation: The talent is undeniable. The baggage is undeniable too.

Now all eyes turn to the NFL office. The league must decide whether to place Arnold on the commissioner's exempt list while the legal process plays out. That decision could determine whether this gamble ever sees the field.
