CHICAGO — Deshaun Watson finally walked back onto an NFL field Saturday, and for one glorious stretch, the Browns looked dangerous. Then the Chicago Bears reminded everyone why these are just preseason games.

Watson flashed vintage form, going 11-of-15 for 126 yards in his first game in 22 months. He led Cleveland to two early scoring drives, building a 10-0 lead before the Bears woke up. The highlight: first-round rookie KC Concepcion taking an end around 14 yards to the house on the first play of the second quarter.

But the rust was real. Watson also coughed up a fumble on a sack in the second quarter — a stark reminder of the 30-year-old's long, tortured road back. Two Achilles ruptures. A season-ending shoulder injury. An 11-game suspension. He's been through it all.

QB Battle: Sanders vs. The World

Watson and Shedeur Sanders are locked in the NFL's most-watched quarterback competition under new Browns coach Todd Monken. Sanders played the third quarter and into the fourth, going 6-of-11 for 79 yards. But he sealed an ugly night with a terrible interception — an overthrow so bad that Beanie Bishop Jr. had a vacation day while waiting for it.

Bishop wasn't done. He also picked off Dillon Gabriel, who finished mop-up duty going 5-of-8 for just 23 yards.

Bears' Bench Bites Back

With Caleb Williams resting after leading Chicago to their first NFC North title since 2018, the Bears' backups did the job. Tyson Bagent was sharp, going 13-of-22 for 169 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Then Case Keenum put on a clinic: 9-of-10 for 151 yards and two touchdowns.

Chicago also used the game to test offensive line combos, with Kiran Amegadjie starting at left tackle and Jedrick Wills Jr. facing his old team — though Wills allowed a sack to Julian Okwara late in the first half.

Injury Check

Browns DBs Michael Coats Jr. (ankle) and Nate Evans (quad) left with injuries. Bears receiver Luther Burden was sprinting on the field pregame, a strong sign after a groin injury.

Next up: Cleveland hosts Buffalo next Saturday. Chicago heads to Cincinnati.
